Short ARES net Saturday on the 443.725 + repeater
445.175 simplex Back Up (if repeater down) at 9:30 AM
Derek AB9SO - contact and Emergency Coordinator for Adams County
For those of you not aware, the state ARES group was looking to us in Adams County to see if we would be interested in starting a county ARES team. After many discussions among some of our club members
and also among our RACES group, it was decided that an ARES group here could provide us with some benefits.
RACES is our main focus in Adams County, and will always be, but there are some instances where ARES
could benefit us. We also wanted to make sure that we could have both groups co-exist peacefully, and work together.
Go to http://www.arrl.org/FandES/field/pscm/sec1-ch1.html
to read more about what ARES is all about.
I have been appointed the Emergency Coordinator for Adams County for our newly formed ARES group.
We are in the process of recruiting more volunteers for ARES.
To become an ARES member all you need to do is fill out the membership form. You can be both a RACES volunteer as well as ARES, we actually encourage it! Please go to
http://ab9so.home.mchsi.com/index1.htm and fill out the form to join
the Adams County ARES group. If you have any questions please email me at ab9so@mchsi.com
Also, we will be having an ARES net weekly on the 443.725+ repeater.
This net will be held every Saturday at 9:30 AM. We may adjust the time depending on how the net goes. You do not have to be on our ARES team to check in. So check out your 440 equipment and antenna's!! This net will be short in nature, basically a quick check in and traffic report. Thank you and 73!
